England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler has stepped down from the role after their early exit from the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
Two opening defeats saw England out of the tournament at the earliest opportunity and it marked a third white-ball disappointment in a row under Buttler after the team failed to defend the 50 and 20-over World Cups in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
