A National Audit Office report found there has been no signs of improvement in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN) despite funding reaching record levels.
After a 58 percent increase in real-terms funding from 2014-15 to 2024-25, the National Audit Office wrote, “the system is still not delivering better outcomes for children and young people or preventing local authorities from facing significant financial risks.”
